Planning for Success in 2009

As we approach the second quarter of 2009, we plan to build on the successes of the past year to better serve your company and its employees. Despite an economically challenging environment, CIGNA International Expatriate Benefits (CIEB) posted solid results for 2008. Excluding the impact of the unfavorable foreign currency exchange, we achieved double-digit earnings growth. We continue to position ourselves for profitable growth as we actively aim to meet the wide-ranging needs of the global employers and the growing expatriate market.

In the face of economic distress, we will continue to take appropriate steps to ensure that we respond to employer and employee needs effectively and efficiently. Our achievements demonstrate our ability to integrate a wide range of health services for the benefit of the people we serve.
