CIEB Expands the Provider Network in Malaysia
CIGNA International Expatriate Benefits (CIEB) expanded its network in Malaysia to include 60 new doctors and hospitals, growing its already extensive network. CIEB offers access to a network of more than 90,000 global health care providers, delivering unprecedented access to care worldwide.
The network in Malaysia is part of CIGNALinks®, CIEB's specialized solution to health care coverage for expatriates living and working in countries where government regulations or tax implications may affect benefit and health care offerings. CIGNALinks® provides members access to health care and the added benefit of cost savings through alliances with local insurers.
To further assist members, the Malaysian network offers a direct pay option, providing members with the convenience of cashless settlements of claims. The providers are strategically located in areas with a high concentration of members, such as the capital city Kuala Lumpur, to further facilitate access to health care.
Plans are currently underway to expand the network to at least 100 additional Malaysian clinics. As a carrier with one of the broadest international provider networks, CIEB's ongoing strategy is to continuously expand the access to care and offer a growing selection of direct pay providers, delivering value to the more than 300,000 members currently covered by CIEB.
CIEB Reacts to Earthquake
Earlier this month, an earthquake struck L'Aquila, Italy, 60 miles north of Rome. CIGNA International Expatriate Benefits (CIEB) assessed the developments related to the earthquake, which has tragically taken the lives of many, and injured more than 1,500. CIEB is committed to helping our members in impacted areas receive the care and services they need during this difficult time.
CIEB and our global emergency assistance provider, International SOS®, have no reports of members or clients impacted by the earthquake at this time. We are closely monitoring calls into our International Service Centers and will remain in contact with International SOS®. If necessary, our medical directors and clinical team will monitor the medical progress of any injured members.
We added an emergency alert to our website to inform members of the services available to them. Our International Service Centers are prepared to respond to calls from members impacted by the earthquake and are able, in conjunction with our medical team and International SOS®, to assist with requests for:
- Financial assistance
- Medical monitoring
- Medically indicated evacuations
- Lost passport and travel document assistance
- Emergency message transmission
- Assistance with emergency travel arrangements
- Repatriation of mortal remains
If you have questions or concerns, please contact your client manager or a CIEB International Service Center at 800.441.2668. Members may contact us internationally using the country's AT&T access code plus 1.800.441.2668 or may call collect at 302.797.3100.
